Articulation Prize 2018

ARTiculation, the national public speaking competition, which encourages young people to look, think and speak about art, will hold the South West Regional Final at the Holburne Museum, Bath on Monday 19 February 2018, 2 – 4.30pm.

At the Regional Final, 10 students aged between 16 and 19 will each make a 10 minute presentation about a work of art, architecture or an artefact of their choice in front of an audience and an adjudicator.

Schools taking part at the Holburne Museum are, Cheltenham College, Cheltenham Ladies College, Colston’s School, Cotham School, Exeter College, New College Swindon, Plymouth College of Art, Ralph Allen School, Redmaids’ High School and Royal High School, Bath

Dr Chris Stephens, Director of the Holburne Museum will adjudicate this year’s South West Regional Final.

He will select one student to go through to the Grand Final at Clare College, University of Cambridge on the 9th of March, 2018.

At the Grand Final 9 student speakers will have been selected from Regional Finals held in Newcastle at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Arts, in Manchester at The Whitworth Art Gallery, in Birmingham at The Barber Institute for Fine Arts, in Norwich at The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, in Bath at the Holburne, in London at The National Gallery, in Oxford at The Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology, in Kent at Folkestone Quarterhouse and in Wiltshire at the New Art Centre, Roche Court Sculpture Park.

The Grand Final will be adjudicated by Lord Smith of Finsbury, Chair of The Art Fund and Master of Pembroke College, Cambridge.

Over 1,000 students enter The ARTiculation Prize in England every year.
