The Colourscape Moonorooni is arriving on our front lawn to bathe all ages in a kaleidoscope of colour. Inflatable interconnected chambers flooded with intensely coloured light allow you to experience colours that you might not even be able to name. Colourscape is a delightful sensory experience that has been described as like flying in, or breathing in colour, or like being wrapped in a rainbow.
Presented by Eye Music Trust, Colourscape will feature a programme of contemporary music each weekend. During the weekdays visitors will be able to experience a free-flowing day of workshops and performances with our resident composer/musician Michael Ormiston.
Colourscape can go ahead in all weather conditions, except for high winds. Colourscape will only proceed if it is safe to do so. Please contact us in advance if you fear that bad weather might affect your visit. For further information please call 01225 388569
Due to the poularity of Colourscape you might need to factor in some queueing time to your visit. To ensure that all visitors can enjoy Colourscape sale of tickets might close as early as 3pm. Music is played at intervals within Colourscape between 11am and 3pm. The final hour of Colourscape between 3 and 4pm is silent (without musical performance) for those who wish to enjoy a quieter experience.
Extended opening hours over the Bank Holiday weekend - Colourscape will close at 5pm with last tickets sold at 4pm for last admission at 4.30pm

FESTIVAL DIARY
Sat Aug 18 - Kembang Kirang Gamelan - a full Balinese Gamelan will create a procession from Bath Minster through the city to the Holburne Museum where they will perform throughout the afternoon. Weather depending they will create some impromptu processions throughout Sydney Gardens at intervals throughout the afternoon. A programme of traditional Gamelan music with some contemporary written music and tape music created from Gamelan sounds.
Sun Aug 19 - Consortium 5 are a young recorder quintet that specialise in linking Renaissance music with contemporary sounds. Their Colourscape debut in Autumn 2011 was a great success where families and young children were enthralled to hear instruments that everyone recognises being played in new imaginative ways.
Mon Aug 20 to Friday Aug 24th - Colourscape Resident musicians Michael Ormiston, Ansuman Biswas and Simon Desorgher perform and invite the public to participate. A free-flowing week to appeal to all ages and abilities with music on panpipes, Asian percussion, Mongolian Overtone Singing, Tibetan Singing Bowls plus YOU! Throughout the day there will be regular talks given by the Colourscape artists starting approximately on every hour (depending on demand). These will be short talks on the nature of colour with some experiments that you can take on with you in your Colourscape visit.
Sat Aug 25 - HyperYak create an unusual mix of Far Eastern music together with the latest computer-music processing. Mongolian Overtone Singing, Chinese gongs, Tibetan Singing Bowls and panpipes are processed by computers to create a new universe of sound.
Sun Aug 26 - Voice and Viol da Gamba - an intriguing mix of ancient and modern with 2 members of the contemporary vocal trio "Juice" (Sarah Dacey and Kerry Andrew) plus Viol da Gamba player Liam Byrne.
Mon Aug 27 - Dance and Music. Dancer, Tanya Richam-Odoi together with Colourscape regular percussionist Ansuman Biswas and saxophonist John Butcher perform throughout the afternoon. The music flows freely from Asian percussion through free-flowing saxophone to computer sounds - always with the infectious dancing from Tanya who will encourage you to move and take part!
