Tuesday 17 September, 7.30pm. Picture Gallery
Holburne Director, Xa Sturgis will talk to artist Paul Emsley about his portrait of the Duchess of Cambridge which will be on show at the Holburne from 7 September to 6 November. They will discuss the circumstances of the commission, the particular challenges it presented as well as the process of painting the portrait.
This promises to be a popular event so please reserve your ticket at the main Information Desk soon.

Masks and Myths: Hew Locke and Milena Dragicevic. Two exhibiting artists in current exhibition Characters explore their different ways of expression.

Painting Portraits with Maggi Hambling. International leading contemporary artist will talk on her extensive work.
Thursday 14 November, 7.30pm. Garden Café
The camera always lies: painting people in British Post War art with Dextor Dalwood. Professor of Art and Design at Bath Spa University Dexter Dalwood will explore post-war portraiture.

Jake Auerbach – The Last Art Film What starts an artist off on their creative journey? What sustains that magical spark? Filmmaker Jake Auerbach will explore this art theme with input from Tracey Emin, Grayson Perry, Paula Rego, Frank Auerbach and many more.
