Holburne Up Lates are an invitation to socialise with friends and be inspired by art. Relax with friends and a drink, share some nibbles and enjoy music in the Garden Café from our resident DJ throughout the evening. Discover the treasures of our collection and experience our beautiful exhibition Bruegel: Defining a Dynasty. And don’t forget to enjoy a cocktail in the Café and admission to Bruegel: Defining a Dynasty for just £10.
Make sure you don’t miss the following event on the evening:
Join conservators Elizabeth Holford and Seonaid Wood in exhibition gallery pop-up talks as they discuss the challenges of conserving Pieter Bruegel the Younger’s The Wedding Dance, and Visit to the Farmhouse, and Boy Blowing Bubbles by David Teniers The Younger, and Garland of Flowers attributed to the Dutch School. They will also discuss how their specialist knowledge of painting techniques can reveal fascinating insights about the artists and the processes that they used.
Great events will also happen on the following Holburne Up Late dates:
Friday 28 April
Join our young people’s forum for an inspiring evening of pop-up talks exploring our unique oil study of the young Arthur Atherley by Sir Thomas Lawrence. Leading us on a journey of discovery, students will explore this juvenile portrait through the eyes of the artist, creating their own personal connections with the painting.
Friday 26 May
Join Bath galllery-owner David Simon for Making an Impression, a talk which will explore the importance of contemporary print-making.
