Search the Collection
Muse is the Holburne Museum's on-line collections catalogue. Created in partnership with local universities and the Arts & Humanities Research Council, Muse is a learning resource that gives public access to information about a selection of items. You can either search for specific items, or browse through the catalogue for information and images that illustrate two aspects of the Holburne Museum's collections: the History of the Holburne Collection and the Art & Culture of Georgian Bath.
At this stage, the Muse database contains only a small number of objects from the collection, which numbers about 8,000 items in total. 160 objects have been selected for Muse as a virtual exhibition on the two themes, 'The History of the Holburne Collection' and 'Art & Culture in Georgian Bath'. In addition, all of the Holburne's 260 oil paintings are now available, thanks to the Public Catalogue Foundation. If you are searching for a particular object or type of object, you may not find it on Muse yet, but we hope to extend the database in the future.
