Notes This card appears to have been printed shortly after the major alterations made to the Sydney Hotel in 1836, as  the building  is shown with the extra floor of bedrooms that was built on top. It reopened as the Pulteney Hotel. Two years prior to this the tenant in charge had announced that he would change the building into a 'Private Lodging House' and would leave only the Coffee Room for the use of the Pleasure Garden visitors.
