Notes This plate was made during the reign of Emperor K’iang Hsi (1662-1722). It is decorated in a style known famille verte where a brilliant apple green and a strong iron red predominate amongst yellow, purple and violet blue enamels. Famille verte porcelain was made mainly for export to Europe and replaced the earlier Ming five colours scheme in which blue was rendered in under-glaze and not enamel.
