Sir William Holburne is here photographed with two pieces of porcelain from his collection. Both pieces are attributed to Chelsea-Derby, c.1775. To the left is a figurine of Neptune (C228) and to the right Time clipping Cupid's wings (C222).

This is one of several identical but different sized photographs in the Collection. This version  is unmarked. However, several cartes de visites in the Collection are inscribed on the reverse: H. FOOTE, / Photographer, / 8, Broad Street, BATH. Sir William was also photographed in the same pose but wearing a hat (L629).
