Tickets £10/£8 Tel 01225 388569
As Director of the National Portrait Gallery, Sandy Nairne is responsible for commissioning portraits from a wide range of contemporary artists, including, in 2010, Julian Opie's portrait of James Dyson.
He also oversees the two major annual competitions for portrait painters and photographers (the BP Portrait Award and the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize). In this talk to coincide with our Julian Opie exhibition he will discuss some of the issues surrounding contemporary portraiture.
