In Conversation: Why do Museums Matter?
Tristram Hunt (Director, V&A), Sonia Boyce, (Artist and Professor of Black Art & Design at University of the Arts London), Maria Balshaw CBE  (Director of Tate) and Chris Stephens (Director, Holburne) As museums redefine their place in society, and their financial positions become progressively more vulnerable, the question of why museums matter is all the more urgent and complex. This talk will explore the significant and profound ways in which cultural engagement can enhance, shape and alter people’s lives.  (Exhibition and Garden Café open for drinks, 6-7pm)
