A Poetry Workshop with Penelope Shuttle

In this full-day workshop with poet Penelope Shuttle, students will draw inspiration from the exhibition Seurat to Riley: The Art of Perception, close-reading some poems featuring colour imagery, discussing the relationships between colour-perception and poetry, and writing their own poems. Students should be prepared to do some writing ‘on the hoof’ as they view the exhibition, before returning to the workshop to work on their notes and initial drafts. Participants are invited to wear a garment or accessory in their favourite colour.
Penelope Shuttle lives in Cornwall. Will You Walk A Little Faster? was published by Bloodaxe Books in May 2017. Her recent books are Heath, with John Greening, (Nine Arches Press) and a pamphlet, Four Portions of Everything on the Menu for M’sieur Monet! (Indigo Dreams Publications).
