Join actor Mark McGann, star of West-end shows Lennon (1982) and Up On the Roof (1987), and two-time Olivier Award nominee, for this one-day intensive Shakespeare Masterclass. Mark’s lauded Screen and Stage Masterclasses have proven popular throughout the UK and offer passionate actors of all levels an unrivalled opportunity to deepen their acting skills. This workshop will demystify the works of the Bard, and introduce traditional approaches to acting Shakespeare’s blank verse as espoused by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Once enrolled, and about two weeks prior to the workshop, all participants will be sent a different verse via email.
For over 35 years, Mark McGann has played critically-acclaimed roles on Stage and Screen. He made his professional acting debut with the Everyman Theatre Liverpool in 1981 and had his major breakthrough role as John Lennon in 1982, his performance gaining him the first of two Best Actor Olivier Award nominations. Mark is also a professional director, scriptwriter, producer and published songwriter and has received commissions from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Merton Music Foundation at the Royal Albert Hall and for the City of Sunderland.
