Experience the music mania of 18th-century Britain! Fashionable fortepiano music was all the rage during this period as the rising middle classes shared in the finer things in life – delicate china, fine silks, polite conversation and music. Join Helen Coombs as she brings to life the types of fashionable songs that were key to domestic entertainment and were published, sold and performed with aplomb.
Helen Coombs is a specialist in early keyboards – particularly harpsichord and fortepiano – and has played as a soloist and continuo in many early music groups. She is the founder of the ensemble, Salon Baroque, with whom she sings and plays many different styles of music.
