Hours 37.5 per week (full time)
Salary £30,000 – £34,000 per annum depending on experience
Working closely with the Director and Senior Team, you will play a vital role in delivering our mission and vision. Responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of an integrated marketing and communications strategy and specific campaigns, you will extend the Museum’s reach, raising our profile and attracting more visitors to the Museum.

Key priorities
- Lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of integrated marketing and communications campaigns for the programme of exhibitions, workshops, classes and courses.
- Manage the overall brand, value and image of the Museum
- Plan and oversee press launches and other high profile media occasions
- Build strong press relationships with regional and local journalists and work closely with our external PR consultant to secure national media coverage.
- Identify and develop media stories and features to maximise awareness of the Museum and its activities
- Develop digital marketing and social media strategies, identifying engaging content for the programme and collection.
- Work closely with designers on branding and advertising for all exhibitions.
- Build partnerships with Destination Management Organisations and cultural/tourism partners to promote the Museum, partners and the city of Bath.
- Evaluate all marketing and PR campaigns and report directly to the Senior Management Team
- Maintain a digital archive of all Museum material and press coverage
- Devise and deliver strategies to provide a detailed understanding of the Museum’s audiences and capture evaluation on the programme
- Manage and update the Museum website, keep content up-to-date, identifying engaging opportunities for promoting exhibitions and events and maintain search engine optimisation
- Produce and generate regular e-mailings, growing our email database over time.
- Maximise all e-commerce potential for ticket sales and retail.
- Develop and implement a reporting infrastructure that summarises all of the key digital marketing analytics across all digital channels
Person Specification
Essential
- Significant demonstrable experience of managing successful marketing and communications campaigns.
- A dynamic, creative and entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to think and plan strategically and anticipate future trends
- Knowledge and experience of using digital innovation, social media platforms and content to drive engagement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work cooperatively across other departments and contribute to the Senior Team.
- Proficient use in online marketing channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Experience of maintaining and supporting a website
- Web development skills: knowledge of HTML/JavaScript and WordPress
- The ability to manage budget responsibilities
- The ability to plan, prioritise and deliver exceptional work to deadlines
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills; ability to manage a varied workload
Desirable
- Experience of delivering marketing campaigns preferably within the arts, cultural, charity and tourism sectors.
- Interest and knowledge of the museums, heritage and visual arts sectors.
