Join art historian Dr Zehra Jumabhoy, lecturer in the History of Art at the University of Bristol, and curators Priyesh Mistry and Will Cooper for an informal evening exploring Nalini Malani’s new commission My Reality is Different. Beginning at 6pm with a short tour of the show with the exhibition’s curators, followed by a 7pm talk from Jumabhoy discussing Malani’s use of the female to unpack ideas of nationhood, empire, and the legacies of Britain’s global dominance.

Dr Zehra Jumabhoy is an art historian specialising in modern and contemporary South Asian art. She is interested in exploring and analysing the socio-political contexts of South Asian art history. Will Cooper is the Holburne Museum’s curator of contemporary art and has worked closely with Nalini Malani in the development of this exhibition. Join us to unpack themes embedded within this vital commission.
