Susana Parker, archaeologist and heritage expert, recently discovered a Roman sarcophagus in the gardens around the Holburne Museum, as part of a Heritage Lottery-funded project. Susana and Wendy Powney, technology consultant, will talk about the forgotten histories of Sydney Gardens and how they are working to protect the special treasures of the Grade II-listed pleasure grounds.

One of these treasures is the only remaining Georgian supper box in the UK – a precursor to public restaurants as we know them today, and a unique part of the Holburne’s back story as a hotel and place of entertainment.

Join us over a glass of wine for a lively talk which will bring to life the fascinating history of Sydney Gardens and how we can appreciate what is left.

*Ticket cost includes a glass of wine and nibbles.
