Sir Nicholas Penny talks about the relationship between public and private art

The National Gallery and Longford Castle: a new style of relationship.

This talk will outline the story of the links between the two outstanding collections and how they have developed since the 19th century. It will illustrate how public and private institutions can interact and the importance of works of art being kept in the places they were made for or in the spaces designed around them.
